The Substance Abuse Counselor functions as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment teamThe Counselor provides individual, group and family counseling services along with case management and comprehensive discharge planning to the chemically dependent patientTreatment planning conducted in collaboration with referents; family and other service providersPerforms liaison/outreach activities as needed QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalentRequirements:
A minimum of two years experience in providing CASAC counseling services to chemically dependent patients and their familiesA Credentialed Alcoholism or Substance Abuse Counselor preferred or CASAC eligible and actively seeking state credentialing as an alcoholism and substance abuse counselor or other relevant health professionalWorks closely with the members of the interdisciplinary team as well as admissions and administrative staff.
